Ok...so I thought I got suckered into this curling iron when we were at the mall the other day...BUT, once I used it on the girls...I didn't. It is totally awesome and works great. It took me about 20 minutes or so to do Shaelee's hair and about 15 or less on Emilee's. Then....my sweet Shaelee tells me after I have finished her hair that she want a ponytail. Of course she did not get it :)

Hevenly Coconut Cake...
So, one late night Tad and I were watching The Food Network and the Alton Brown guy was on. He was going through the science of a coconut cake. Tad and I watched the whole episode and drooled the whole way through it. So of course I had to try to conquer the recipe. He made his own coconut extract, coconut cream and coconut milk. I did not go as far to make the coconut extract for this recipe. I just used what I had in my pantry, but we did make the coconut cream and milk. This cake is so amazingly good and worth every minute that it took to make it. Even though it turned out to be nearly 4 hours that I spent on it. I am sure if I did not have 4 demanding children at home and my husband that it would have gone smoother...but hey, but 9:45 lastnight I had finally finished it. WELL WORTH IT!!!!
I am going to give the extract a try once we get moved. I want to do coconut, mint and vanilla.

Tate's Valentines....
I know this is way late, but hey...atleast I it did get done just in time for Valentines Day. These cute Valentines were from Family Fun and kinda time consuming, but worth it. Tate said all his friends liked them. Tate also told me I always have the best ideas. I wish I could take credit for it all :) Hope everyone's Valentines Day was great.

Mr. and Mrs. Moats....Our Wedding Day
This is the best story, of course I think it is!! I would not have traded this day for anything!! So, Tad and I had been dating for 7 months and he had asked me to marry him. Of course I said YES!!! We had picked out a ring together and were paying on it slowly. We decided to set our wedding date for early December during the finals when most of my family was already going to be in town. Well...I had been at work and decided I was going to get all the info that we needed to get our marriage license. This was Thursday, August 12th, 2004. That night Tad and I were sitting at our little kitchen table in our little 800 sqft house and I was telling him what all I found out. Then we got the calendar out and started looking at dates...then we decided on colors...you know, all the prewedding goodies :) Then I told Tad, "Why don't we just go and do it and get it over with?" He looked at me like I was CRAZY!!! I proceded to tell him that since we had both been married before, why do we need to go through it again....WE LIVE IN VEGAS (not really...we did live in Henderson). His response to me was, "We are going to have a lot of people mad at us if we do that." I said, "well, they will get over it"! Then he says, "We don't have our rings yet". I said, "Ummmm, Kmart has all thier jewerly 70% off". NOW, I really thought he thought I was crazy cause the look he gave me was priceless!! So, we got in my little car and headed to kmart and bought our rings. My band cost $10.00 and Tad's cost $20.00. We headed to the courthouse and got our marriage license. As we came out the door there were people standing there handing out brochures for wedding chapel and the first one that got handed to Tad, WE WENT TO. And that was it. We walked in...and it was the best thing we have ever done. I would never have changed that night for anything. It was great, even though we were in jeans and T-Shirts!!
No look at us....our little 800 sqft house is now 3,000 sqft. My little car (ford escort) is now a ford excursion and our little kitchen table (only set 3) now is a big dining room table with 6 chairs and a high chair. A lot has happened in these 6 years but they have been the best 6 years of my life :)
Oh yes...and one day shy of our one year anniversary we welcomed Shaelee Lynn Moats into the world :)

Shaelee's Friendship Blossoms...
Gotta love my CRICUT…but have you seen the Cricut Cake …OH MY GOODNESS!! I so want this, but probably not, but that’s ok. I do love my Cricut and with it I made Shaelee’s Valentines for preschool. I copied the idea from Family Fun - Friendship Blossoms. The Cricut just made it very simple to cut out and assembling was a breeze…except I got the wrong suckers. I had no idea what to make until lastnight and I already had the suckers so we went with it!! So now Shaelee has these very cute flower Valentine’s to give to her preschool buddie. Now I need to get working on Tate’s. Happy Valentines everyone!!

Preschool Fun - Letter "R"
Today for preschool we did the letter "R". It was a funfilled 2 hours....lets see with my own kiddos I had baby Kaylee (who is 2 months old TODAY), TJ (22 months), Emilee (3) and Shaelee (4) plus three other 4 year olds....IT WAS GREAT!! Really, it was.
I decided to go with The Rainbow Fish/Rainbow theme. It was fun. I used my wonderful Cricut to cut out the fish about 7-1/2" and the fish bowl to put the fish on. Then we decorated the fish with different colored gems and sequins. Then we put together an "R" book. Oh yes...and read the story The Rainbow Fish.
For snacks I made rainbow layered Jello cups for each kiddo and sent them all home with a little baggy of the colored goldfish crackers. The also ate lots of Fruit Loops. I had those out to make rainbow cereal necklaces (instead of candy necklaces), but they all (with the exception of Shaelee) ate all the Fruit Loops before getting them strung on the ribbon.
It was a great day and I am looking forward to "V" :) I better start working on it NOW!!!
